Rahul Choudaha's report on Trends in International Student Mobility is providing a useful perspective and summary on the currently available data. (WES report) http://ow.ly/aEYZH China has been the driving force. 340,000 Chinese students studied overseas in 2011, a 19% increase from 2010. The aggregate student figures show strong growth of undergraduate enrollment and ESL programs. The author quotes reports expecting a three-fold increase by 2025 to 8 million students,traveling to other countries to study. Many schools report increased recruiting effort to broaden the student pool beyond China and India. The author comments on the various recruiting methods such as commission-based recruiting, path way programs and promotes social media recruitment.
